Epson named its new Artisan Inkjet All-in-One lineup after a craftsman skilled in the arts, and they gave the base-level Artisan 700 three different ways to create attractive and legible output. It copies, scans, prints at 38 ppm in color and black and white, and rolls out a 4”x6” photo in a reported 10 seconds. Sounds a little fast, although Kevin Garnett of my hometown Boston Celtics yelled “Anything is Possible!!!” after winning the NBA title this past summer, so I’ll suspend my disbelief for now.
Besides fast print speeds and versatility, the Artisan 700 offers built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, which can come in especially handy for a small workgroup within your office. This All-in-One also features a 2.5” LCD screen for previewing photos, PC-free photo printing via PictBridge and Memory Card, CD/DVD printing, and two separate trays for plain paper and photo paper. You also get six different ink cartridge colors that include shades of light cyan and light magenta. MSRP comes out to $199.99.
