After writing about the $69.99 Canon PIXMA MP190 Inkjet All-in-One Printer and hearing Jingle Bell Rock on the radio the other day, I was already convinced that Christmas had come early. Now Epson has released the Stylus NX100, another $69.99 model that’s the closest thing you’ll find to a stocking stuffer among multi-function printers. It copies, scans, and prints at 14 ppm in color and 26 in black. The Stylus NX100 also prints on paper up to 8.5”x44”, making it a viable option for banners.
Besides that, there really isn’t much to tell about the Stylus NX100. It’s a bargain basement MFP, which means no networking, no LCD screen to preview images, and no PC-free photo printing. If you’re comparing the Stylus NX100 and Canon PIXMA MP190, the Stylus NX100 appears to offer slightly faster print speed in black and white, and ink costs look a little more affordable.
