Based on the HP Photosmart C6380’s spec sheet, this new inkjet all-in-one looks like one of those rare jack-of-all-trades that manages not to spread itself too thin. It copies, scans, and prints at a reported 31 ppm in color and 33 in black and white. In addition, the Photosmart C6380 rolls out a 4”x6” photo in a reasonably robust 18 seconds, features a 2.4” LCD for previewing photos, and prints PC-free via memory card. As is increasingly prevalent among today’s photo printers, it features a plain paper tray and dedicated photo paper tray for more automated photo printing. However, the photo tray only holds photo paper up to 5”x7” in size, so that might give the experts something to criticize.
Besides its photo printing capabilities, the Photosmart C6380 features Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity for small workgroups. Ink costs look pretty reasonable as well, especially if you go with the 564XL high yield ink cartridges. Based on the overall feature set compared to similar printers, the $199.99 MSRP seems generally justified.
