Take away the scanning, copying, and 2.4” LCD screen from last entry’s HP Photosmart C6380, add a 3.5” LCD, and you get the new Photosmart D7560 Inkjet Printer. Just like its MFP contemporary, the Photosmart D7560 prints at a reported 31 ppm in color, 33 in black, and it rolls out a 4”x6” photo in 18 seconds. It even uses the same ink, offers PC-free photo printing via PictBridge and memory card, and features separate plain paper and photo paper trays for more automated photo printing.
That said, two key points deserve some mention. First off, unlike the HP Photosmart C6380, the Photosmart D7560 lacks the network connectivity to make it anything more than a home office document and photo printer. Secondly, the $149.99 MSRP seems hefty for a single function printer coming out at the same time as a number of $100-and-under MFPs and inkjets. Even among HP machines, notice that the Photosmart D5460 is essentially the same printer with a smaller LCD, and it costs only $99.99. Is a bigger preview screen really worth an extra $50? Who knows - regardless, the Photosmart D7560 looks like a capable model that may very well justify the price tag based on its actual performance.
