A couple posts ago, we painted the Lexmark X7675 as a versatile all-in-one printer with features that cater to both photo enthusiasts and small office owners. It copies, scans, faxes, and prints at a reported 27 ppm in color, 32 in black. For photo hobbyists, it features a 2.4” color LCD for previewing photos, and PC-free printing via PictBridge and memory card. For businesspeople, the Lexmark X7675 has Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as a 25 page auto document feeder (ADF) for more automated copying, scanning and faxing. But does this new inkjet live up to the claims it makes in its spec sheet? A couple experts have tried the X7675, and they agree that it warrants a good look from consumers in multiple market segments.
M. David Stone of PC Magazine gives the Lexmark X7675 a solid 3.5/5 for its versatility at home and in your small office. However, he does have a couple specific issues, the first being the low 100 sheet paper capacity. Stone recommends the 250-sheet HP Officejet J6480 as a printer in the same price range that gives you longer breaks between paper changes. In addition, the X7675’s print speed for text and photos is slow, while print quality is good for photos, but not as good for text and graphics. Overall, Stone recommends the Lexmark X7675 if you put a premium on having plenty of features at your fingertips.
While Alexander Yoon of Yahoo! Tech doesn’t give the Lexmark X7675 a quantitative grade, he considers the new MFP a nice value for the $199 price tag. Yoon likes the network connection options, PC-free photo printing, 2.4” LCD, and solid all-around print quality. The review acknowledges that the Lexmark X7675 isn’t really superior in any one area, but the extensive feature set makes it “great for college students and home office users.”
